Every now and then a quality television film comes along. Generation War is a bright light in an otherwise production line of poor offerings… This is brilliant in so many ways. From the skillful direction and intriguing storyline to masterful character development, from magnificent set recreations to convincing performances from its actors, this is a winner.
Generation War (German: Unsere Mütter, unsere Väter, literally “Our mothers, our fathers”) is a German World War II TV miniseries in three parts. The series tells the story of five young German friends, on their different paths through Nazi Germany and World War II: As Wehrmacht soldiers on the Eastern Front, war nurse, aspiring singer, and Jewish tailor respectively. The narrative spans over five years starting in 1941 Berlin, when the friends meet up for a last time before embarking on their journeys, enthusiastically vowing to meet up again the following Christmas. The story’s conclusion is set in a time shortly after the end of the war in 1945/ 46.

This little masterpiece is about love & death. At the huge Berlinale filmfest with 1500 people watching the movie, many of them were crying. It was such a great trip of a movie where the film makers got a 10-minute standing ovation. Everyone was deeply touched by the story, great acting and fantastic music scoring.
Elise and Didier fall in love at first sight, in spite of their differences. He talks, she listens. He’s a romantic atheist, she’s a religious realist. When their daughter becomes seriously ill, their love is put on trial.

A successful artist and local art museum coordinator (“Cecilia”) hears voices telling her to release ‘troubled” individuals from this earth and into the serenity of the afterlife. Cecilia, now leading the life of a full-time serial killer, preys on the depressed, distraught, and hopeless as she attempts to find meaning behind the voices she hears. However, Cecilia meets a young man (“Lucas”) who just may fill the void in her heart she has been missing her entire life…..the problem being Lucas is a suicidal, depressed man. Cecilia struggles between what her heart is telling her and what her voices are telling her about him. A story of love, life, and death.

In the late nineteenth century, brutal land baron Seamus Laurent slaughters a Roma clan, unleashing a curse on his family and village. In the days that follow, the townspeople are plagued by nightmares, Seamus’s son Edward goes missing, and a boy is found murdered. The locals suspect a wild animal, but visiting pathologist John McBride warns of a more sinister presence lurking in the woods.
Black Sabbath are an English rock band, formed in Birmingham in 1968, by guitarist and main songwriter Tony Iommi, bassist and main lyricist Geezer Butler, singer Ozzy Osbourne, and drummer Bill Ward. The band have since experienced multiple line-up changes, with guitarist Iommi being the only constant presence in the band through the years. Originally formed as a blues rock band, the group soon adopted the Black Sabbath moniker and began incorporating occult themes with horror-inspired lyrics and tuned-down guitars. Despite an association with these two themes, Black Sabbath also composed songs dealing with social instability, political corruption, the dangers of drug abuse and apocalyptic prophecies of the horrors of war.
