The Season 5 premiere: Liv and Clive investigate a murder case with no body and no brain to eat, and the only evidence they have to work with is a grainy video and a little bit of blood found at the crime scene. Meanwhile, Blaine is up to his old tricks.
Blind 20-something Murphy is drifting through life in a haze of drunkenness, and her only friends are her understanding roommate Jess and Tyson, a sweet teenager she met when he saved her from a violent mugging. Murphy’s life is turned upside down when, while out for a walk with her guide dog, she stumbles upon what she is certain is Tyson’s lifeless body in the alley outside her apartment. When the body disappears by the time the police arrive, and they don’t seem inclined to investigate, Murphy clings onto the only thing that can keep her together: figuring out what happened to her friend.

Syd is pushed to examine whether her unapologetic lifestyle might be masking a greater personal secret. These two women don’t agree on much, but they find common ground when it comes to taking on the most dangerous criminals in Los Angeles.

On each episode, aspiring magicians from all around the world are invited to perform their best trick to try and fool the two. To avoid spoiling the tricks, when Penn and Teller are able to guess how the contestants’ magic works, they usually explain it in code, and when the contestants do manage to full them, they are rewarded with a guest spot on their famous magic show in Las Vegas. “Queen Sugar” tells the story of the estranged Bordelon siblings in Louisiana. At the center of the family are Nova, a journalist and activist; Charley, the wife and manager of an NBA player; and formerly incarcerated father Ralph Angel, who is searching for redemption. Following a tragedy in the family, the siblings must put their complicated lives aside so that they can come together to run the clan’s struggling sugar cane farm. Also involved in the farm are Aunt Violet and family friend Remy Newell.
