Season 5, Episode 01 – “To All Our Boys”
Return of the drama, starring Nicholas Ralph. It is Spring 1941 and with the Second World War under way, Siegfried is taking up the slack at the surgery, while Mrs Hall and Helen are considering their contribution within the community, and Carmody is eager to step up.

James goes on a crash course in fatherhood. Mrs Hall referees between Siegfried and the overly officious Mr Bosworth. Helen is concerned about the influence of Jenny’s new friend.

When Jimmy’s Christening day is interrupted by the arrival of a surprise visitor, Siegfried makes a promise he struggles to keep, while a furry friend helps Helen to find common ground with James’s mother.

Season 5, Episode 04 – “Uninvited Guests”
The numerous adventures of a friendly staff at a country veterinarian practice in 1930s to 1940s Yorkshire.

Season 5, Episode 05 – “Pair Bond”
Carmody gets an opportunity he shouldn’t turn down. Mrs Hall and Mr Bosworth clash over a warden task. Siegfried and Carmody are forced to pay attention to their romantic pursuits.

Season 5, Episode 06 – “Glass Half Full”
James has a bout of brucellosis, bringing buried emotions to the surface. A broken-down car forces Siegfried and Tristan to renegotiate their relationship, with amusing consequences.
