This six-part docu-series weaves together rarely told stories of the moon landing, Manson murders, the Chappaquiddick scandal and Woodstock with that of Nixon’s first year in office, John Lennon’s Bed-Ins for Peace, FBI shootouts with black activists, and the Stonewall Uprising. Gripping firsthand accounts of people who lived through the time reveal a snapshot of how these events came together at the same dizzying, chaotic time. Grammy-nominated artist Salaam Remi pays tribute to the era.

Season 01 , Episode 01 – “Moon Shot”
Interviews with people involved in the 1969 moon landing, including software engineer Margaret Hamilton, mathematicians Katherine Johnson and Christine Darden, astronauts Michael Collins, Charlie Duke and Gerry Griffin.

Two women describe in revelatory detail the journeys that led each of them to join the so-called “Manson Family”; an inside view of what life was like with Charles Manson.

Season 01 , Episode 03 – “The Girl in the Car”
The story of Mary Jo Kopechne, a former Robert F. Kennedy campaign staffer who died in a car accident with Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-Mass.).

Season 01 , Episode 04 – “The FBI and the Panther”
Former Black Panther Party members give firsthand accounts that chronicle how they established themselves and became so influential in 1969, how their agenda involved and why the White House deemed them a threat.

Season 01 , Episode 05 – “Generation Woodstock”
The youth movements that spurred the Woodstock music festival and Stonewall Uprising are recalled.

Season 01 , Episode 06 – “Fortunate Sons”
Events from the year 1969 are spotlighted.
