Season 1, Episode 1 – “Carol”
Carol Is a single mom whose teenage sons Terry and Dean accidentally beat a stranger to death. When Carol learns of her sons’ involvement in the crime, she turns to the person she didn’t want to go to for help: the boys’ estranged father.

Season 1, Episode 2 – “Ying”
Ying is an illegal immigrant from China who survives living in Brixton by selling pirated DVDs and stolen phones around the local stores and shops.

Season 1, Episode 3 – “Richard”
Richard is a middle-aged heroin addict who is struggling to keep clean so that he can re-establish a relationship with his teenage daughter, Sabrina.

Season 1, Episode 4 – “Katrina”
Katrina is a Polish woman who runs a marriage scam with her boyfriend Tomeck, finding European women willing to marry men in order to stay in the UK.
