Shemar Moore stars as a locally born and raised S.W.A.T. sergeant newly tasked to run a specialized tactical unit that is the last stop in law enforcement in Los Angeles. Torn between loyalty to where he was raised and allegiance to his brothers in blue, former Marine Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson has everything it takes to be an excellent leader and bridge the divide between his two worlds.

Tan is left reeling when his girlfriend is kidnapped, and 20-Squad must race to track down a violent cartel leader who may be behind the abduction.

When back-to-back shootings at women’s clinics leave two healthcare providers dead, Hondo and the team investigate whether the shootings were politically motivated.

When two students are brutally attacked, 20-Squad contends with a possible honor killing. Meanwhile, Hondo and Nichelle have their first parenting dispute while searching for a suitable daycare.

Season 8, Episode 08 – “Left of Boom”
Hondo and the SWAT team race to stop a nuclear attack on Los Angeles when radioactive material is stolen from a local lab. Also, Powell delves into Alfaro’s past when he displays a talent for boxing as the department prepares for the annual LAFD “smoker” boxing tournament.

Season 8, Episode 09 – “Open Season”
When Hondo learns there’s a $1 million bounty on his head, 20-Squad must race to uncover the mysterious enemy from Hondo’s past who’s intent on revenge. Also, Deacon and Tan butt heads over Tan’s changes to SWAT academy.

20-Squad contends with a hostage crisis. Also, Hondo receives a family visit.

Season 8, Episode 11 – “Amber”
20-Squad races to find a missing child who was abducted from her front yard. Also, Hicks is faced with a difficult decision concerning Gamble.

Season 8, Episode 12 – “Deep Cover”
While working undercover for 20-Squad, Alfaro encounters associates from a previous undercover case in Long Beach, embarking on a dangerous mission that stirs up unresolved issues from the past.

Season 8, Episode 13 – “High Ground”
During a hiking trip, Powell and Gamble stumble upon an illegal weed farm and find themselves taking on a dangerous cartel.

Season 8, Episode 14 – “The Santa Clara”
When violent robbers loot a museum vault, fleeing with almost a billion dollars in treasure recovered from a sunken ship, Hondo and 20-Squad must chase down the thieving killers before they flee the country. Meanwhile, Tan reckons with the fallout from a SWAT Academy accident, and Gamble nervously awaits the verdict of her IA investigation.
