1. Free users can now download files more than 500MB – and there are many especially TV series that has too many episodes that were not repacked and archived into several parts.

2. You need to consider that waiting time for a free user to download each file:

– One hour waiting time for each file – if you are downloading a 3 GB file – right now you dont have to wait – You can download the 3GB file immediately
– If its divided into 6 parts – thats an additional waiting time of 5 hours (since the first link is downloadable after solving the captcha)

3. Downloading Speed

Downloading a 3GB file will take the same time IN TOTAL whether you are downloading it as one file or 6 files, except that there is no waiting time for each file to be downloaded, which means that downloading the bigger file is faster than downloading 6 different files.

Just like other file hosters, this is the way everybody’s doing it now, you can check them out and their download speed is 50KBPS. It will just take some time to get used to it.

We have received a lot of requests to increase the download size for free users for a few years now and we studied it to make will be beneficial for all users. Rarefile followed the structure of other file hosters.

Im so sorry if you are not happy with this new major update, we thought we were doing this to make things easier for all downloaders, beside that it will also make our job easier. We are hoping that you will also see the benefits.

Hello Snehap, when we decided to increase the file size for all users, i discussed this with rarefile for approval – and they did after several weeks, the download speed will remain at 100KBPS, please take note that nothing has changed for the speed from before, while you can download from other file hosters at 50KBPS, rarefile has retained the 100KBPS, however there will be a variation depending on several factors, location, the number of people downloading the same file, etc. Rest assured the 100KBPS will remain, and lets hope that our new discussion to increase it will have a favorable response, thank you very much for your understanding

LOL John, your suggestion is correct, you can reset and you dont have to wait – but you can apply this on one big file or several small files, right? So dont you think its better to have less resetting than more? Also everyone should be glad that a lot of TV series that has too many episodes (which we didnt archive due to the tedious job of archiving) can now be downloaded by free users. Whichever angle you look at this, increasing the file size is beneficial to all users. Thank you very much

HI Max, I’m a paid Rarefile subscriber. My Rarefile download speeds just dropped significantly. I also noticed that some files are no longer hosted on rarefile and being directed to other hosters? Hope you can help rectify. Thank you.

Hello ECSM, kindly take note that we dont upload to other any other file hoster except for rarefile, please make sure about that, please check your AV program, it might be interfering with your downloading, nothing has chaged with rarefile except for the bigger file size and speed is the same, thank you very much

Hello John, nothing has changed with rarefile except for increasing the file size for downloading, personally i have not experience and slow down except for peak internet usage in our city, but that will now depend on your location and the numbers of users using the same ISPs, with the pandemic that we have now, most ISPs have bottlenecks and this would affect your downloading speed, it has nothing to do with rarefile my friend, try downloading when you think there a less users to observe the difference, thank you very much
