Steve Cavanagh’s Eddie Flynn is something of a cross between John Grisham’s Mitch McDeere of The Firm and Frank Galvin of The Verdict. Eddie came about when Cavanagh was doing a cross examination in a trial when he tricked the witness into telling the truth using an age old trick. That was when it hit Steve that just like the wily con artists on the street, good trial lawyers depended on distraction, manipulation, misdirection and persuasion.
