In the premiere of this drama following a brilliant private pathologist who helps the Miami police department solve its toughest investigations—whether they want his input or not—Dr. Beaumont Rosewood Jr. tackles a case that hits close to home, and teams up with maverick detective Annalise Villa for the first time.
Season 01 Episode 02 – “Fireflies and Fidelity”
When an unexpected piece of evidence surfaces in the 305, Rosewood and Villa attempt to solve a serious crime involving a very well-off Miami man. Meanwhile, Rosewood struggles to balance a new romantic interest with the demands of his mother, and Villa runs into trouble on the job.
Season 01, Episode 03 – “Have-Nots and Hematomas”
A series of mysterious deaths pulls Rosewood off the glamorous promenades of South Beach when a troubled young genius stands accused of murder, and the only one who believes in his innocence is Rosewood. He must contend with a colorful new adversary, escalating health problems and a burgeoning romantic relationship, while Villa’s inability to connect with people hampers her own ability to investigate the case.
Season 01, Episode 04 – “Vandals and Vitamins”
When Rosewood and Villa suspect a brilliant doctor has killed two of his patients, they must find a way to make their case with limited evidence. Meanwhile, Villa spars with Captain Hornstock when he discourages her from pursuing an uncertain case. Also, Rosewood receives an anonymous letter revealing something that could change his life forever.
Season 01, Episode 05 – “Necrosis and New Beginnings”
Adrian Pasdar and Nicole Ari Parker Guest-Star Rosewood and Villa make it their mission to seek justice for a murder victim who is an ex-con with ties to a Little Haiti gang. Meanwhile, Villa struggles with dreams she’s been having, and Rosewood deals with an unexpected turn in his relationship with Kat.
Season 01, Episode 06 – “Policies and Poniess”
When Captain Hornstock becomes the prime suspect in his third ex-wife’s murder, he turns to the only two people he can trust to prove his innocence, Rosewood and Villa, forcing them to repair their severely damaged relationship in hopes of clearing his name. Meanwhile, Shirley’s revelations lead to emotional consequences for Rosewood and Pippy.
Season 01, Episode 07 – “Quadriplegia and Quality Time”
While testifying for the prosecution during a murder trial, Rosewood engages in a pathology chess match with the expert witness for the defense – his father. Then, when Donna and Beaumont Sr. make an unexpected announcement, it has unforeseen consequences.
Season 01, Episode 08 – “Bloodhunt and Beats”
Rosewood and Villa are thrust into the underbelly of the everglades when they team up with Hornstock’s ex-partner-turned-bounty hunter, Floyd Butters, to catch a murderer. Meanwhile, Pippy is given the opportunity of a lifetime to launch her music career, and Villa tries to reconnect with her mom.
Season 01, Episode 09 – “Fashionistas and Fasciitiss”
Miami Fashion Week isn’t all glitz and glamor when a plot to murder a top designer is uncovered, which leads Rosewood to reflect on his past and Villa to start thinking about her romantic prospects when he asks for help from his best friend and colleague, Dr. Mike Boyce. Meanwhile, Donna tries online dating; and Pippy is stunned by a secret that TMI has been keeping from her.
Season 01, Episode 10 – “Aortic Atresia and Art Installations ”
The hunt for a serial killer in Miami’s art scene draws the attention of an FBI agent who happens to be TMI’s ex-fiancé, but his involvement could be the end of her relationship with Pippy as well as ruin Hornstock’s chances to be police chief. Meanwhile, Donna worries about her son when he’s the target of a lawsuit that has the potential to destroy Magic City Lab.
Season 01, Episode 11 – “Paralytics and Priorities”
A killer’s still on the loose as the search gets personal for Rosewood to follow a specific set of clues. Meanwhile, Villa puts her romance with Mike on hold to dive deeper into the case; and Donna senses a conflict between Pippy and TMI’s absentee mom. Elsewhere, Hornstock can be the next chief, but only if the price is right.
Season 01, Episode 12 – “Negative Autopsies & New Partners”
Villa must pick a new partner, but instantly butts heads with the person assigned to her, so she decides to keep a low profile after learning she’s responsible for Hornstock missing out on the chief’s job. Meanwhile, Pippy offers her help on a case that’s personal; and Rosewood looks for a new cardiologist.
Season 01, Episode 13 – “Ballistics & BFFs”
Villa gets a new partner, with whom she shares a past, for the investigation of the murder of a dentist who ran a drug ring for yuppies in the suburbs, but Rosewood suspects this detective has intimate knowledge of the victim’s business. Meanwhile, a new medical examiner is tapped to handle the case; and Hornstock needs help with public relations.
Season 01, Episode 14 – “Hydrocephalus & Hard Knocks”
Joo Joo is a prime suspect in Rosewood and Villa’s next case, and they discover a side of their informant they never knew existed, even though he might go to jail for the rest of his life. Meanwhile, Hornstock is perplexed by the new chief’s personality; Rosewood is concerned about Villa’s choice of a place to live; and Pippy and TMI have a hard time balancing old acquaintances and family.
Season 01, Episode 15 – “Atherosclerosis & the Alabama Film-Flam”
Rosewood goes to a convention for forensic pathologists in another city and inadvertently describes how to commit the perfect murder in a speech. Meanwhile, Hornstock and Butters help out with Rosewood and Villa’s undercover investigation; and TMI gets a visit from her estranged father when she and Pippy are working overtime in the lab.
Season 01, Episode 16 – “Dead Drops & Disentanglement”
A case hits close to home for Rosewood during the investigation of the suspicious death of a man whose condition mirrors his own. Meanwhile, Donna and Erica clash over what they think is best for Rosewood; and Hornstock asks Villa for help reaching out to his estranged teen daughter, who happens to be a witness in the case.
Season 01, Episode 17 – “Silkworms y Silencio”
A telenovela star’s murder compels Rosewood and Villa to examine their own relationship in the context of off-screen drama and mystery. Meanwhile, Donna is not pleased with Erica’s influence on her son’s life; Rosewood’s Pontiac is stolen; and Villa reaches out to her mother.
Season 01, Episode 18 – “Thorax, Thrombosis & Threesomes”
Rosewood clashes with a rival pathologist on a case involving two bodies and a lot of cash washing up on the beach. Meanwhile, Daisie oversteps her boundaries after she moves in with her daughter; and TMI struggles to keep up with Pippy and Cassie.
Season 01, Episode 19 – “Sudden Death & Shades Deep”
The death of a musician and jingle writer flummoxes Rosewood and Villa, who can’t figure out if he was murdered or died of natural causes. Meanwhile, Donna taps Mitchie to look into Erica’s past.
Season 01, Episode 21 – “Keratin & Kissyface”
The murder of an ATF agent who was working undercover turns out to be connected to a cold case that leads to a number of surprises for Rosewood and Villa.
Season 01, Episode 22 – “Badges & Bombshells”
In the Season 1 finale, Rosewood and Villa may finally be able to reveal their true feelings for each other, but Rosewood’s discovery of some interesting evidence leads to his own private investigation without her knowledge. Meanwhile, Rosewood and Pippy make assumptions about Donna’s love life; Pippy and TMI’s wedding is just around the corner; and Hornstock is haunted by a mistake from his past.
